On behalf of our client, Nordic Solar, we are looking for a curious and problem-solving Site Manager in Italy. Nordic Solar is rapidly expanding and building multiple new PV sites throughout Europe, with 11 sites currently in the pipeline in Italy. As such, they are seeking a local employee to oversee operations and ensure effective management of contractors and activities on site.
In the position, you will be responsible for on-site and country-specific operational control and contractor management, securing smooth construction and operational progress while reporting and safeguarding documentation needs. The responsibilities in the position can be divided into two categories:
Site management and activities
- You will be responsible for coordinating construction project management, working closely with the engineering team based in HQ as well as stakeholders on site. You will also support the development of projects at the pre-RTB stage with relevant local inputs, ensuring that site and local project management activities align with the project schedule and budget. Furthermore, you will be responsible for implementing general site management, screening, negotiating, and managing subcontractors, coordinating all trades on-site during construction, and preparing project documentation. Additionally, you will manage the successful operation and management of solar parks after completion, report any issues from the site, and participate in project evaluations and follow-ups.
Local activities
- You will ensure that all site activities comply with HSE guidelines and local regulations, which involves managing risk and mitigation strategies, coordinating with state authorities, and ensuring all site and project management activities comply with relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, the role involves supporting administrative and corporate tasks, including permit management, construction permits, and other related applications. Finally, you maintain ongoing operational dialogues with locals to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Experienced site manager with a solid technical understanding
The ideal candidate should hold a technical degree in engineering, technician, electrician, or a related field and possess 5-7 years of experience in a similar role in Italy. Experience with subcontractor and contract management, as well as cooperation with Italian municipalities, is essential. Fluency in English and Italian is required, and previous experience in an international company based in Italy is preferred.
