On behalf of our client, Nordic Solar Management A/S, we are looking for an experienced, technically well-founded and commercial EPC Manager to take full responsibility of the company’s extensive construction programme. This includes close cooperation with the investment team on new projects as NSM embarks on more, high potential markets. Referring directly to the COO, the position holds a rare opportunity to become part of a successful investment company focusing on solar energy.
Successful investment company within solar energy
Taking on the position as Nordic Solar Management’s (NSM) new EPC Manager, you play an important part in securing the solutions and quality of the solar parks on a large scale. In doing so, you work closely with external stakeholders encompassing, among others, EPC and development partners, technical advisors, and suppliers. Moreover, you engage in a close cross-organizational cooperation with the project teams of NSM encompassing the business units, investment, legal and asset management, respectively.
Thus, your main responsibilities are:
- To ensure the design and quality of the developing solar parks, to become ready for construction, or under construction
- To ensure the commercial interests of NSM, working strategically with partners and stakeholders
- Over time, potentially build up and manage a strong EPC-team
Working with these areas of responsibilities, you manage the ongoing construction activities with EPC contractors and local partners. This includes site inspections during construction as well as monitoring the construction progress with the aim of evaluating milestone completion. In addition, you manage the procurement process for the entire scope of solar PV plant construction and you likewise structure and manage coming EPC tender processes, e.g. BoP, hardware supliers, Grid, etc. Moreover, you participate in business development activities with EPC scope responsibility and you cooperate with local stakeholders as well as EPC and sourcing partners. Finally, you ensure a continuous dialogue with these stakeholders keeping them in your comprehensive network.
Technically well-founded and commercial EPC Manager
You hold a master’s degree within electrical engineering, representing a high academic standard. In addition, you represent min. 6-10 years of relevant work experience from a Tier-1 EPC contractor, technical advisor or similar. Therefore, you have proven experience with EPC and construction management, having successfully taken projects from the RTB stage and realized the construction of large scale solar PV projects. Consequently, you have a strong network within the solar industry which you enjoy to extend and maintain.
Having worked with multiple stakeholders, you hold an excellent commercial understanding being a skilled negotiator. You have a good legal/compliance and numeric sense and also like to spend some time with MS 365 platform, e.g. Excel, sharepoint, etc. Moreover, you hold proficient English skills and preferably master one or more additional European languages on negotiation level. However, most importantly, you would like to stay engaged in the maturing renewable energy industry working for a fund manager with a solid track record and a significant growth rate.
As a person, you are extrovert and accommodating. You are self-motivated and thrive when working in small teams. Moreover, you posses a good sense of humour and the ability to see new opportunities, and you find ease working in a dynamic environment; occasionally characterised by very tight deadlines. However most importantly, you are ambitious with your work and eager to contribute to the continuous growth of NSM.

About Nordic Solar Management
Nordic Solar Management A/S (NSM) is the investment manager of two specialized investment companies/funds within solar PV – Nordic Solar Energy (NSE) and Nordic Solar Global (Global). The company’s investors are private and professional investors, family offices, trusts and smaller institutional investors.
The risk profile defines the mandate for each investment company. NSE acquires operational solar parks within Europe and Global invests in solar projects in development up to ready-to-build (RTB) status within the OECD countries. NSE and Global have a combined balance of appr. 500 mio. EUR owning operational solar parks in 9 countries.
It is expected that the funds’ investment portfolio will double within the next 1-2 years. The aim is to create an investment company of at least 3-4 times the current size that can either be listed or sold to an institutional investor. The final decision is up to the shareholders of NSE and Global.
NSM manages the investment process, capital raising and asset management in the form of technical operation management and ongoing administration of both funds, as well as each of the specific local investment vehicle, which the solar farms are organized in. Most recently, the funds have also engaged in development and construction which will be main focus on this position.
