Nordic Solar A/S is looking for a proactive and problem-solving Environmental & Biodiversity Design Expert, who is committed to make a meaningful impact within biodiversity in the development, construction, and operation phases of solar parks in Europe.


 


As the Environmental & Biodiversity Design Expert, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring a consistent focus on operational excellence and the implementation of sustainable solutions. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Glenn Aagesen, you’ll join a dynamic and multi-national team in the EPC & Operations department, based in Hellerup, Denmark.


 


Your main responsibilities will be to guide, deliver, and supervise the organization on matters related to the environment and biodiversity in the following phases:


 


  • Development (10%): CCM/EIA studies, screening project plans including protected areas, species, vegetations, advise on laws, restrictions, standards, and biodiversity initiative indications.


 


  • EPC (50%): Deliver project specific biodiversity plan, managing biodiversity project development, cost management, provide environmental and biodiversity related inputs to the construction permit application, manage correspondence between departments, environmental agencies, and regulators, LCA implementation, management, and development, and site visits.


  


  • Operations (40%): Project biodiversity monitoring and reporting, internal biodiversity reporting, ESG ambassador representative, LCA and scope 3 CO2 calculations, ISO14001 standard deliveries.


 


Anticipate approximately 20-30 days of travel per year to contribute directly to the construction and operations of solar parks, where your efforts will directly impact biodiversity.


 


Inspiring biodiversity enthusiast supporting the organization


To excel in this role, you most likely hold an academic background within Biology, Nature Management, Environmental Science or similar. You have a proven track-record working with biodiversity or environmental studies for approximately 3 years. If you have experience from the renewable industry, where you have supported the EPC & Operations department, this is viewed as a significant advantage.

Your natural curiosity, combined with a strong business understanding, will be instrumental in driving the biodiversity efforts throughout the solar PV lifecycle. Proactive problem-solving skills, a commitment to challenging the status quo, and a desire for continuous learning are highly prized qualities that will contribute to the sustainable business growth.
