On behalf of our client, Nordic Solar Management A/S, we are looking for a visionary and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to help the company grow the exciting business into new, high potential markets. Referring directly to the Investment Director, the position holds a rare opportunity to become part of a successful investment company focusing on solar energy.


 


Successful investment company within solar energy


Taking on the position as Nordic Solar Management’s (NSM) new Business Development Manager, you help the company expand the business into new markets, among others, by working closely with potential co-development partners. This encompasses identification and assessment of new pre-RTB projects taking into account the legal, financial and technical aspects of each project.


 


Thus, your main responsibilities are:


 


  • To assess and analyse pre-RTB project opportunities offered by potential co-development partners
  • To, independently, seek out and analyse new project opportunities
  • To establish and develop selected pre-RTB project opportunities


 


Working with these areas of responsibilities, you take the lead in contract negotiations as well as in regard to related financial implications. Thus, you are expected to carry out financial modelling as part of the origination processes. In addition, you do the preparation of presentations for stakeholders, management and Board of Directors.


 


Likewise, you structure the co-development cooperation frameworks encompassing the monitoring and coordination of the development processes also ensuring milestone completion. As a consequence, the position holds an evident focus on developing and maintaining the network of potential partners in Europe and beyond; thus, travelling activity must be expected.


 


Visionary and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager


You hold a master’s degree within engineering, law or finance representing a high academic standard. In addition, you represent 5-10 years of experience working with project development within solar energy (or wind). Consequently, you have succeeded in bringing projects from greenfield to the RTB stage and realized the construction of projects.


 


You have a strong network within the solar industry which you maintain and extend continuously. Indeed, you represent an excellent commercial understanding acting as a skilled negotiator. This includes a good numeric sense and a natural interest in MS Excel. Moreover, you are proficient in English and preferably further European languages (negotiation level). Finally, you would like to engage in the maturing renewable energy business working in a fund manager with a solid track record and significant growth.


 


As a person, you are extrovert and accommodating. You are self-motivated and thrive when working in small teams. Moreover, you possess a good sense of humour and the ability to see new opportunities, and you find ease working in a dynamic environment; occasionally characterised by very tight deadlines. However most importantly, you are ambitious with your work and eager to contribute to the continuous growth of NSM.

About Nordic Solar Management


Nordic Solar Management A/S (NSM) is the investment manager of two specialized investment companies/funds within solar PV – Nordic Solar Energy (NSE) and Nordic Solar Global (Global). The company’s investors are private and professional investors, family offices, trusts and smaller institutional investors.


 


The risk profile defines the mandate for each investment company. NSE acquires operational solar parks within Europe and Global invests in solar projects in development up to ready-to-build (RTB) status within the OECD countries. NSE and Global have a combined balance of [500] mio. EUR owning operational solar parks in 9 countries. 


 


It is expected that the funds’ investment portfolio will double within the next 1-2 years. The aim is to create an investment company of at least 3-4 times the current size that can either be listed or sold to an institutional investor. The final decision is up to the shareholders of NSE and Global. 


 


NSM manages the investment process, capital raising and asset management in the form of technical operation management and ongoing administration of both funds, as well as each of the specific local investment vehicle, which the solar farms are organized in. Most recently, the funds’ have also engaged in development and construction which will be main focus on this position.
